How to use Google to search within a single web site

The search text that you enter in to Google search engine, will be used to search entire websites. What if you want to limit search to single site. Yes, that too can do...

You can use Google's site: syntax to restrict your search to a single Web site. Make sure there's no space between site: and your Web site. Follow with a space and then your search terms. You don't need to use the "http://" portion of your URL.

for example;

site:java.sun.com jdk7 features

This limits to search sun's java sub domain only. if you want to search all sites under sun's domain name, you have to use;

site:sun.com announcement

this lists announcement under every domain in sun.com. Also you can do domain wide search.

site:edu scholarships

This list all results of scholarships under edu domain.

Have fun with limited searching....
